The French Revolution: The French Revolution began in 1789 when the citizens took control of the government and brought down their monarchy. This was due to poor economic policies from King Louis XVI. The revolution came to an end 10 years later when Napoleon Bonaparte toppled the revolutionary government, and eventually created The French Consulate.
