To express an action in the future, you don’t necessarily have to use a future tense in Spanish. You can use the present to talk about action that will happen in the near future: ‘Esta noche cocino para ti’ = ‘Tonight I’m cooking for you’. Note that in Spanish we use the present simple tense in these sentences, unlike English, which uses the present progressive.
