To say what time it is in Spanish, simply use the verb ‘ser’ in the third person, with no subject, and the feminine article ‘la/las’ (which refers to ‘la hora’). You use the singular when referring to 1a.m. and 1p.m.: ‘Es la una de la tarde’, and use the plural in every other case: ‘Son las cinco de la mañana’.
