About me¡Hola! My name is Alejandra and I'm a professional English<>Spanish Translator. Are you ready to learn Spanish with Latin American songs? -- A bit about myself: I'm 33 years old and I was born and raised in Argentina. From a young age, I was passionate about languages, communication, World cultures and Arts. I obtained a degree in English Translation in Buenos Aires at the Universidad del Salvador. I love to travel and make music; this is how I get to meet people from all over the World and socialize really quickly in any circumstance. Songs carry such a deep meaning and cultural richness I decided to base this course on traditional (and not so much) Latin American music to help you learn this beautiful language, develop what you already know and work on your ability to enhance your expression. If you enjoy music and are curious about Spanish, I'm sure you'll like these lessons! Below, you'll find more information about my background and what you can expect of this course. ¡Que tengas un buen día! ----- Certifications: Scientific and Literary English Translator (2007) Sworn English Translator (2009) Graduated from Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Member of the Sworn Translators' Board of Buenos Aires, Argentina. ---- I have been working as a language professional for more than 12 years. Living in Buenos Aires for 9 years, I was able to teach Spanish as a private tutor to visitors coming to town to learn our language and culture. Such a joy to see people expressing in a new language! --------- What to expect of the course: Lessons are tailor-made for your specific needs, level and objectives. Our first lesson serves as an introduction to determine your goals, current level, areas of interest, difficulties and abilities. Each lesson is based on a different song presenting crucial elements for us to work on reading comprehension, written production, speaking, listening, pronunciation and phonetics. Although I have my own selection of songs for each student, you're very welcome to send your suggestions! FYI: You're not required to sing but you can certainly do so if you enjoy it :) I believe the most important thing is to feel motivated, thus I intend to create exercises based on each song and give you resources and updated material about interesting topics so you can keep on learning. I will also give you homework to practice while you're on your own. Feel free to e-mail me your doubts and I'll be happy to answer back. Now, let's begin... ¡Vamos a aprender español con la música latinoamericana!
