You are lucky in that you get to start to learn Italian when YouTube is a thing. It is a fantastic resource for learning a language. In this post, we want to take a look at how you can learn Italian with the world's largest video site.
Before we talk about how to learn Italian with YouTube, let's start with the reasons why you want to be using this resource:
• Easy to access. Most countries should have access to YouTube
• 100% free to use (if you can put up with ads)
• Tons of Italian content
• Fantastic for listening practice
• Content available at every learning level
To be honest, if you just watch content on YouTube in Italian, you will probably pick up some of the language naturally. Although, we do have some ways to make your language learning a lot more efficient.
There are a lot of Italian lessons on YouTube that you can use. We suggest that you use a few of them alongside one of the tutors that you have hired through Just Learn.
With language lessons, you can take a more passive approach to your learning. Just listen to what people are saying. If you feel compelled to write down some notes, then do so. However, the best Italian lessons will be designed in such a way that notetaking will be kept to the absolute minimum. They are just trying to convey the information in the best way possible.
If you are just starting to learn Italian, then these language lessons are going to be the best place for you to start.
Once you have picked up the basics of Italian, you can graduate to enjoying some of the other content found throughout YouTube.
We suggest that you start with Italian videos aimed at children. The content will be much simpler, and this will make it easier for you to pick up some vocabulary and Italian grammar. Of course, you can also view some other more 'sophisticated' videos, but it is going to be quite boring if you don't understand much of what is being said.
When you learn Italian this way, it should be more active in learning. You will need to pause the video regularly. Whenever you do not understand a word being said, then write it down and look up your notes. We also highly recommend repeating some of the words out loud. See if you can mimic the Italian way of speaking. This way you can get in both listening and speaking practice at the same time!
Italian is an incredibly fun language to learn through YouTube. You have thousands and thousands of videos that you can enjoy. This means it won't be difficult to find something that you really want to listen to. This is going to be a great way to build up your vocab and grammar. Just make sure that you do not do too much per day. The last thing you want is to get tired of it, right? You do not learn efficiently like that.
