What Are the Best Language Apps to Learn Grammar?

While any tutor that you hire through Justlearn will give you countless grammatical exercises for you to do, sometimes you will want to do a little bit of extra practice. Luckily for you, there are countless language apps out there for improving your grammar skills. Here are some of our favorites!

Memrise

Memrise is always going to be up there as one of the best language apps to learn grammar, particularly if you are looking to work on verb tenses.

Memrise works on a sort-of 'flashcard' system where you will be repeatedly drumming grammatical rules into your head. It is a highly efficient system. Much of the grammar will be spoken by native speakers too. This means that you can really get a feel for the way the language is spoken.

Memrise is brilliant because, over time, it will start to work out the areas that you are weakest in and encourage you to spend the vast majority of your time there.

There are several courses on Memrise, so just track down the one that suits your needs the best.

Anki

This is a flashcard system, just like Memrise. However, the difference is that you will need to make the flashcards yourself. We love using this app in combination with working with a tutor. If your tutor says some grammatical rule, then you can make a flashcard with it. It is a simple system, but it is probably the best way to improve your language skills from things that you have already been learning yourself!

Duolingo

This isn't strictly a grammar app, but it has a ton of grammatical rules along the way, so it is as good as one.

If you are learning a language, then we have no doubt that you will have heard of Duolingo before. This is because it is the premier language learning app. It is primarily for learning vocabulary and gaining a basic understanding of a language, but Duolingo can't help but introduce you to the basic structure of the language. Spend an hour or so in Duolingo per day and we can guarantee your language skills will improve.

Mindsnacks

Sadly, Mindsnacks doesn't have that many languages available, but if you are learning one of the seven that they have in their language app, then this is the best route to go down.

Mindsnacks will teach you a language while having a ton of fun games that you can play along the way. This is one of those language apps that really help to make language learning a lot more fun!

Pimsleur

Pimsleur is all about language repetition, which makes it perfect for learning grammar. You will have to pay to unlock every feature in the app, but most language learners find that it is more than worth it.

Mango Languages

This is another app that doesn't have a huge number of languages to choose from but, from what is there, it is great. Over time, you will build up your grammar and vocabulary as you work through various tasks in the app. You will have to pay for it, but the app is fantastic and more than worth the money.
