What is Justlearn?

Justlearn is an online platform designed for language learning. We aim to connect language students with the best language tutors and native speakers from all around the world. Our team has developed a unique system to find tutors, book lessons and learn languages online. We also write about tips, tricks and unique ways of learning foreign languages and improving language skills. Justlearn blog is the place to go if you need some motivation or advice.

How are the Arabic tutors verified?

The Justlearn staff carefully reviews each teacher application that comes through. Most applications are rejected. If the tutor passes the initial review, we contact them and require additional information. We continue to review tutors and reject their profiles if they are not replying regularly to messages, if they skip on lessons and more. We want to maintain our reputation of providing high-quality service and the best learning experience.

How do online lessons work?

We use ZOOM to connect students and teachers online. They can access the ZOOM online classroom from either mobile phone or desktop. The video conference room contains advanced features for optimal language learning. You will practice your language skills with modern language tools such as screen share, share files and much more.

Are learning materials included?

Learning materials are very important as they aid in processing students learning development. Here in Justlearn, since we are a one-stop-source to different language tutors from all around the globe, each tutor has their own learning materials where they create, strategize, and use tools to help them in mentoring their foreign students.

Do tutors teach all ages?

Yes, these tutors are willing to teach people of different ages - kids, teens, and adults. As a tutor, it is natural for them to be engaging, interactive and welcoming and not selective to a group of learners. One of our goals is to provide language tutoring to all ages.

How much does a lesson cost?

We have 3 subscription plans. 2 lessons per month for $29. 4 lessons per month for $49. 6 lessons per month for $69.

Can a student become a tutor in Justlearn?

It is common that at some point, people who were learning a language want to teach as well. Whether it is the beauty of teaching and passing the knowledge, communication with others, or after an enjoyable experience with his/her tutor realizing tutoring is the right job for him or her on the platform. Justlearn allows every person to become a tutor. However, he/she has to fulfill some requirements. Here are the most important of them: (1) A tutor can teach only his/her native language. (2) Filling out the Teacher's Application form is required. (3) Bachelor's degree minimum. For more information on how to become a tutor and fill out an Application form, please visit Help Center, tutors' section. Or you can simply go to  Apply to Teach  page.

What payment methods are supported?

We support Visa, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal. No additional fees are added to the price.

What is the most important qualification that you should look out for in choosing a tutor?

Above all else, it's important for you and your tutor to be able to communicate in a common language. It may not be English because the tutor might be fluent in your native tongue, too. But if the tutor you chose is a native speaker of the language you want to learn and isn't fluent with your native language and you know how to speak in English, then make sure he can speak English, too.

What should you expect in learning a language?

Learning a new language takes time, lets you put in a bit more effort and resources to make it work. If you have a specific timeframe that you're following, then you'll need more of the three aspects to learn it. You should also expect that if it's just a bit too difficult for you, then you have to be open to your tutor about your difficulties so that what you've invested on will not go to waste. In that way, your tutor will be able to make adjustments and will help you achieve your goal.

How can you be more effective in learning a language?

Always be attentive in your lessons and when you're done with them, make sure that you are able to practice and apply what you learned. Your tutor will give you tips on how to practice on your own and might give you homework. If the tutor doesn't, then you can ask for it so you can keep practicing off schedule. You always have to help yourself while you're on your own so that when you're already out there and speaking with the locals, it's not that hard to pick up on what you learned anymore.

What factors should you consider in learning a language online?

Learning a language online needs you to invest in a good internet connection, if you don't have any yet, because it's the only way to work with a tutor. You also have to invest your time and if time is difficult to spare, you might as well choose a platform that allows you to choose your own schedule. You also need space, like a quiet room, where you can speak with the tutor and be able to focus on your lessons.

How can you help your language tutor be effective in teaching you?

Always be attentive with what your tutor is teaching you. It's the only way for you to understand and learn easily. Make sure that you follow the schedule that you agreed on or what you choose for yourself if that's how it works. You also have to participate in the activities that your tutor has planned for you because these have been tailored fit with the requirements that you have set. If you are asked to practice during the days when you don't have lessons, you have to religiously do so.

What kind of language tutor should you choose?

It really depends on your learning style. If you think you can learn better if the person is more of someone who teaches professionally then you can find someone who teaches that way. If you're the type who learns while just talking to the teacher, then you can opt for someone who's friendly, enthusiastic and fun but still focusing on the lesson at hand. Always read a tutor's personal introduction so you have a bit of an idea who they are and how they teach.

What's the advantage of hiring a tutor?

It's an advantage to hire a tutor because lessons will be customized for you and you'll be guided in learning them to make it more effective for you. You can easily interact with them and ask them to elaborate if something's not really that clear to you. They will also be able to give you feedback on your progress with your lessons and how far along you are in achieving your goals in learning the language.

How can learning a language benefit me other than being able to communicate with it?

Studies have proved that learning languages can help you with other mental processes as it sharpens your thinking skills. There's significant improvement in your memory, enhances your concentration, it helps you be able to multitask with ease and improves your listening comprehension skills. It also helps you solve problems easily because it enables you to critically be able to think to come up with effective solutions.

What should be your mindset so you can learn a new language easily?

If you already have a particular language in mind because you have goals to achieve, prepare yourself to learn it and be mentally ready to take risks. There will be times that you will struggle but it should always challenge you to work harder and do better. You have to be optimistic and determined that no matter how many obstacles you have, you're still willing to make it happen and be fluent in the language you want to learn.

How important is motivation in learning a language?

Before you decide to learn a new language, you have to be able to answer the question, "Why do you really want to learn?" It could be because you'll get a promotion at work, or for a new relationship, or because you want to get better grades in school and etc. There are many reasons why you want to push yourself to learn. Your reasons why you have to learn affects the level of motivation that you exhibit in learning and it also shows in the progress that you achieve.

How do I contact Justlearn?

Feel free to send an e-mail to us at support@justlearn.com or use live chat, which is placed at the bottom right corner.
