What makes "Nigeria" my country unique

When I think of my country Nigeria all I can see is beauty -  the different cultures, languages, tribes, mouth-watering dishes and religions are things one should look forward to seeing and experiencing in Nigeria.

Nigeria has over twelve different tribes, three religions and five hundred and twenty-five languages.

As a child brought up in a "Yoruba" household, I thought that was all there was to everything in Nigeria, but growing up and associating with others outside of my tribe I realized that Nigeria was more than just what I knew - I found out we had different tribes and speak different languages and whether it be Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, or Efik we are all one and our differences just depict our beauty and uniqueness.

One of the distinctive memory I have of my home town was in 12th grade, schools across Nigeria had a day set aside to celebrate our culture - this day is usually called "Cultural day."

On that day, we all dressed, cooked, spoke danced and sang according to the tribe we belonged to, the aroma of different dishes filled my nostrils and entertainment kept me excited and amused throughout that day.

When that day finally came to an end I became more curious wanting to know more about my tribe and that of others, that day made me see Nigeria in a unique light and how beautiful our culture and people were deepening my love for my country.

So when people want to know about me about my country I just tell them our differences are what makes us unique.
