Christmas Holiday in Igbo Land
The Christmas season is one of the best seasons in the world. It’s when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Many people usually travel during the Christmas season. Christmas trees and Christmas songs are seen and heard in every corner of the street. Igbo is one of the major tribes in Nigeria with about 51 million indigenous people in Nigeria. They are spread all over the world because they are hardworking and travelers. During the Christmas season, every indigenous Igbo person is expected to celebrate his/her holiday in their hometown. We have five Igbo states in Nigeria, they include; Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia, and Ebonyi. Indigenous Igbo People that are in other states are expected to travel to their state of origin and hometown. Indigenous Igbo people that are citizens or living in other countries like the USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, and Spain come back to their hometowns to celebrate with their families and communities. Things to look out for during Christmas in Igbo land are; Wedding parties, the the appearance of masquerades, wrestling, football game, meeting your cousins and relatives you haven't seen for ages, attending ụmụnna (kinsmen) meeting to discuss what happened in the community throughout the year. Christmas holiday in Igbo land is being looked forward to by bachelors and bachelorettes. They meet at wedding parties, village gatherings, or when they are walking on the road. On the other hand, children that are out of school are being given scholarships by those that came ‘home’ to spend their Christmas and New Year. Jobless young men are taken along by one of ‘their sons’ to learn a trade. Christmas celebration is one of the memorable and fun ways of celebrating Christmas. Five different families eat in the same pot and live under the same roof. After the celebration, every family will go back to their place of work, study, and house. North, East, West, and South; home is the best. Igbo land is the best.

Igbo History and Culture Discussions
Since the colonial masters invaded our precious lands, our culture have lost its prestige almost in entirety because of the counter teachings that were given to us both in the school, media, worship places etc against our culture which made some Igbos turn their back against anything cultural taking it to be either Fetish or Diabolic which is far from what our culture posits. There's a great disparity between culture and tradition (Omenani/odinani) and Idol worshipping (igo mmuo/ife arusi) and most of igbo children, youths and even some adult misconcept this and thereby hating our dear culture while imbibing a foreign and more inferior culture.
