Hello, My name is Tara, and I live in the UK. I've been teaching English online for about 8 years. I teach students 18 years old and over. I like to focus on everyday natural language, and I want to help students reach their full potential with their speaking. I can also help students with their grammar, writing, pronunciation, reading, and I can provide listening exercises for homework, or any other homework a student may prefer. I can assist with business English, technical English (I recently helped someone with engineering terminology in English), and we can do general topics too. I have helped people prepare for the IELTS and TOEFL exams in the past, and I would be happy to help out with this again. I think anybody can learn a language from scratch and improve on their existing skills, but they need a patient teacher who is willing to break language down and explain things using simple vocabulary. I will also provide pictures of objects to help people retain vocabulary if they want me too. I use Wikipedia and news articles to do this. I am registered blind, which means I use a computer with a screen reader. A screen reader is software which converts the text on screen into audio, so that I can hear what is on the screen. When I teach, I always use headphones, so I don't disturb my students. I'm happy to use a webcam when I teach, in fact I prefer it if students can see me. I can provide students with Word and PDF documents if they require. I have a bachelor's degree and a postgraduate diploma in translation with language technology. I speak French and Spanish to an intermediate / advanced level. I also speak German, Italian, Greek, Russian, and Norwegian to a beginner level. I can read some Portuguese too. I love learning languages, and I like to learn some of the student's native language to help them a little bit. I understand the difficulties and frustrations students face when learning, and I would like to help people through this. Languages are fun, but they can be challenging too, and if I can help people overcome any difficulties they may have with English, I will be very happy.

Hi! I have been in the business of speaking since the year of 2002 with more than four thousand lessons conducted on Skype and other online teaching platforms so far as an online ESL teacher for a number of years now. I started teaching English in 2011 to young Korean and Chinese students, now to Japanese & Vietnamese adult learners, and I love what I do because I appreciate communication arts. I was a radio announcer/DJ for more than 5 years. I also had a few years in the BPO industry working as a call center agent for a number of call center companies respectively. Basically, I'm an artist, I write songs out of passion. I also write jokes for radio programming. I sing, play the guitar, and paint or draw when I have a perfect time. I am Civil Service eligible(and once hired to work as a computer operator in 2001 at DPWH, but decided to leave the job as I was unhappy with the distance from where I live to the office). I also passed the accreditation test for broadcasters conducted by the KBP(Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas) in 2002, and have attended series of training courses on Standard/Neutral American Accent as a requirement to work in the inbound/outbound sales division of the call center companies I was working in in separate times. I spent more than a decade exploring spoken English, and I have found that if you'll learn it the right way, you will speak it after just months of developing your fluency in it. By the way, I speak five languages including English, to add Japanese soon, hopefully, and I can teach you the basics of any of them as a bonus if you like. See you!
