"Friend" is a noun - a person who you know and like. "Friendly" is an adjective e.g. "he is friendly."

It is normally used to mean that something is "great" or "wonderful". However, this is an informal meaning, and it technically means "extraordinary" or "very unusually large" (although that final meaning is very, very rarely used).

I haven't spoken to all old people, but generally at least in the UK, I would say that old people don't normally say "nope".

What does "P.S." mean?

P.S. means "post scriptum," in Latin and is used when you want to add something you didn't mention already. It is normally used at the end of a letter to add something that you didn't write in the main body of the text. Although, no one writes letters any more so you can use it verbally, or in texts or emails etc.

Why should I learn British English?

Teacher• 3 years ago

Learn British English if you want to learn the same language that the Queen speaks or struggle with spellings (colour not color, theatre not theater etc.). In all seriousness though, British and American English are mutually intelligible and there are only small changes to vocabulary, spellings and pronunciations (e.g. whether to pronounce the 'h' in 'herb').
