About me
Hi there, justlearn peeps. Glad to be here and help those eager minds. Likewise, I'm eager to share my experiences with you. I'm quite the eccentric and intense individual when it comes to "teaching and learning". My LOVE of languages, music and sports is possibly the reason I got into education, so I got my BEd in German and Japanese (plus, tecnnically Danish and Hungarian as well) after I did my BA in Scandinavian Studies and German Language and Literature. So, I tend to teach two ways where it is: 1) LANGUAGE ACQUISITION ~ mostly or all in the target language with lots of using context, teaching with tools such as TPR (among many others), and having every lesson in all the learning styles (i.e. multiple intelligences) whilst keeping it simple, and I try to make every content relate to each other. 2) language learning (blech!) ~ traditionally, where students learn the classroom way (e.g. grammar, textbook-oriented methods, drills) *shudder, cringe*, which I prefer not to do, but if the student wants or insists on such methods, I still accommodate. I can guarantee, however, that the latter (#2) is inefficient and unnatural, and the student will hardly retain anything. Overall, I appear friendly and laid-back, but underneath all that is an intention to empower, guide, and mold individuals not only to learn content but also to be independent and mindful learners, because as much as I am the one teaching, I am also the one learning. Life is a choice, and it often throws us a bone we still gotta find underneath all that hay. Ready to be strong and powerful? Join me. This is a "team" I'd love to be part of. P.S. As I've been an instrumental musician for over 25 years, I also teach flute.About me
