I am aware that every person is different, so I will go at your pace, give you the time you need, and create a relaxing and engaging environment for you to practice and get exposed to the language. I like to do interactive activities and use visual materials, and after each lesson, I will send them to you so you can look over them at any time. In our trial lesson, I would like to talk about your interests, your goals, and your motivation to learn the language. We will start practising, and it will be a good opportunity to assess your skills, give you feedback, and discuss a plan that suits your learning style. ¡Hola! I have six years experience in teaching ESL to students of ages 5 and beyond (my eldest student up to date was 70!), and it's a great satisfaction to see them gaining more confidence in their skills. Also, I have over three years experience in teaching English and Spanish online to students from China, Korea, and Japan, and other countries such as Jamaica and the USA. The majority of my students have been working professionals, stay-at-home moms, and young students that want to practice speaking. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Geological Engineering, a TEFL Advanced Certificate (120 hours), and I received a Band 3 in the Teaching Knowledge Test (issued by Cambridge English). I also believe that life experiences are important in our formation as students and/or teachers. I was raised in Texas from ages 3-11, and being in a Mexican household, I had to manage thinking in two languages at the same time from a very young age. Thanks to this, I've been able to understand the differences between Spanish and English. I have a basic level of Korean, and I'm always interested in learning more languages. When I am teaching either language, and my students ask what a certain word means, I always like to use examples from pop culture or recent events so that way they can remember the correct meaning or the correct context to employ it in. Also, I like to encourage my students to talk about the things they love most in the language they're leaning. Do you like arts and crafts, a certain sport, or a certain music group? Talk about that and you'll see that it's easier to remember that vocabulary! I really hope we can make a good team!

Twi
Twi is said to be one of the most reckoned with languages in Ghana. Twi is renowned for so many reasons because it is the first language in as many as ten regions. Even in all the areas where Twi is not the native language, people use it for business and tourism. Asante Twi is the official language of the Ashanti Region, and it's considered the prevalent business language. Asante is also the official language of airlines and airports operators. All airline pilots that fly to other regions must be able to speak Twi. There are different kinds of Twi like Asante Twi, Akuapem Twi and Fanti Twi. These are not separate languages, but dialects. A dialect is a way people in a particular place speak their native language. In one place, people might have a name they like to use for something that is not the same in other places. For example, in Kumasi, they call motion picture houses Akasan Mfoni, and in cape coast, they call it a Sini Fie. They are all different ways of talking about the same thing. It is important to remember that any form of Twi that you learn is useful. There are no better versions of Twi, only different ones. I'm George from Ghana. Join me today to learn Twi the best way.

We support Visa, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal. No additional fees are added to the price.
What is the most important qualification that you should look out for in choosing a tutor?
Above all else, it's important for you and your tutor to be able to communicate in a common language. It may not be English because the tutor might be fluent in your native tongue, too. But if the tutor you chose is a native speaker of the language you want to learn and isn't fluent with your native language and you know how to speak in English, then make sure he can speak English, too.
What should you expect in learning a language?
Learning a new language takes time, lets you put in a bit more effort and resources to make it work. If you have a specific timeframe that you're following, then you'll need more of the three aspects to learn it. You should also expect that if it's just a bit too difficult for you, then you have to be open to your tutor about your difficulties so that what you've invested on will not go to waste. In that way, your tutor will be able to make adjustments and will help you achieve your goal.
How can you be more effective in learning a language?
Always be attentive in your lessons and when you're done with them, make sure that you are able to practice and apply what you learned. Your tutor will give you tips on how to practice on your own and might give you homework. If the tutor doesn't, then you can ask for it so you can keep practicing off schedule. You always have to help yourself while you're on your own so that when you're already out there and speaking with the locals, it's not that hard to pick up on what you learned anymore.
What factors should you consider in learning a language online?
Learning a language online needs you to invest in a good internet connection, if you don't have any yet, because it's the only way to work with a tutor. You also have to invest your time and if time is difficult to spare, you might as well choose a platform that allows you to choose your own schedule. You also need space, like a quiet room, where you can speak with the tutor and be able to focus on your lessons.
How can you help your language tutor be effective in teaching you?
Always be attentive with what your tutor is teaching you. It's the only way for you to understand and learn easily. Make sure that you follow the schedule that you agreed on or what you choose for yourself if that's how it works. You also have to participate in the activities that your tutor has planned for you because these have been tailored fit with the requirements that you have set. If you are asked to practice during the days when you don't have lessons, you have to religiously do so.
What kind of language tutor should you choose?
It really depends on your learning style. If you think you can learn better if the person is more of someone who teaches professionally then you can find someone who teaches that way. If you're the type who learns while just talking to the teacher, then you can opt for someone who's friendly, enthusiastic and fun but still focusing on the lesson at hand. Always read a tutor's personal introduction so you have a bit of an idea who they are and how they teach.
What's the advantage of hiring a tutor?
It's an advantage to hire a tutor because lessons will be customized for you and you'll be guided in learning them to make it more effective for you. You can easily interact with them and ask them to elaborate if something's not really that clear to you. They will also be able to give you feedback on your progress with your lessons and how far along you are in achieving your goals in learning the language.
How can learning a language benefit me other than being able to communicate with it?
Studies have proved that learning languages can help you with other mental processes as it sharpens your thinking skills. There's significant improvement in your memory, enhances your concentration, it helps you be able to multitask with ease and improves your listening comprehension skills. It also helps you solve problems easily because it enables you to critically be able to think to come up with effective solutions.
What should be your mindset so you can learn a new language easily?
If you already have a particular language in mind because you have goals to achieve, prepare yourself to learn it and be mentally ready to take risks. There will be times that you will struggle but it should always challenge you to work harder and do better. You have to be optimistic and determined that no matter how many obstacles you have, you're still willing to make it happen and be fluent in the language you want to learn.
How important is motivation in learning a language?
Before you decide to learn a new language, you have to be able to answer the question, "Why do you really want to learn?" It could be because you'll get a promotion at work, or for a new relationship, or because you want to get better grades in school and etc. There are many reasons why you want to push yourself to learn. Your reasons why you have to learn affects the level of motivation that you exhibit in learning and it also shows in the progress that you achieve.

I worked as a Wolof transcriber and translator on some projects on Fiverr, Upwork, etc. I am great at speaking and writing both English and French. I have a master degree in English language and literature with a specialization in writing.

Spanish
