Did you know that chinese language is the oldest written language of the world? Some inscriptions of Chinese characters have been discovered around 1766 BC – 1123 BC in many turtle shells during the Shang Dynasty. The Chinese language uses single characters or symbols to represent one word of their vocabulary. Of course, like all other languages, has seen several changes in history. Chinese speakers also invented a system called ''pinyin'' to make their language more understandable for western languages speakers; thanks to which chinese chatacters can be transformed in western alphabet sounds in order to understand their meaning and pronunciation. in you are intrested in this topic i can suggest the book ''the chinese language fact and fantasy'' by John de Francis.
