About meHey there ! About me: Originally from France but now living in Barcelona, I am a therapist and a sexology student in Spain. I love to travel and discover new cultures and up to now I have been living in 4 different countries and have travelled over 40 countries in all the continents (except Antartica). Just before coming to Spain I was doing a PhD in clinical psychology in Canada and I worked as a research assistant and a language tutor/teacher for many years. I left Canada to create a video project to change the common view on mental illnesses and on the people living these experiences around the world. I really want to change the stigmas around it and this is the cause I am dedicating most of my time in. As a tutor / teacher: I have been giving language classes since my first year in university. I know learning a new language can be hard sometimes, but I truly believe everyone can do it when teacher and student work together. I work to create a safe space where you can feel confortable to learn at your own pace and work on subject that interest you so together we can reach your expectations and goals. Living abroad and being confronted with foreign languages I know practice is the best way to learn, memorize and to beat the fear of making a fool of yourself so you feel confortable talking in any situation. I want to know what are your goals in the language you want to learn and from this we can see if we can find a teaching style that suits you best and if I think I might not be the best teacher for you I'll tell you. My teaching style: I love to use tools like acting a situation or using songs, videos, books, scientific papers or articles from the news. I believe it helps the student to memorize vocabulary and have a context. Of course what I would use would depend on what you prefer and what I believe would help you best in a certain situation. Also I like my lessons to feel less of an official class and more like chatting with someone on a subject of your choice or one I believe would help you raise your level up. Of course, sometimes we need to be more strict but this all depends on the student, his/her needs and expectations. Then, according to you goals we could decide if homework would help or not.
