About meMy name is Zainab Gheewala and I am interested in applying for the position of "Online ESL/EFL/English Teacher". I have recently completed “In Class – TEFL/TESOL” course from Asian College of Teachers and thoroughly enjoyed all the learning processes including language teaching methodology, research skills, providing practical support for the subject and teaching and evaluating all the study materials. It has been my most satisfying and fun learning experience so far, making me more confident in my abilities to become a teacher/trainer. I have always been inclined to pursue teaching as a career due to my love for children and for the job satisfaction. This is definitely the best time for me to pursue my dream as I am happily moving on from my current company to a profession which I deeply care about and want to make a career in. The TEFL course has exposed me to various methods of teaching and ways to interact with children. My ability to teach a complex subject in a simple way makes my application for teacher a valid and just cause. Although it is true that I have not worked as a professional teacher before, I believe I do have the mindset and ability for teaching students in the correct way. The TESOL course also included Teaching Practices in schools, so I do have experience of interacting with students and understanding their basic problems and finding solutions for the same. The course taught me to interact with the students in a way which makes it interesting to learn and I follow the same procedure while teaching. I have set up real life scenarios in my teaching practices with students that involve kinesthetic applications like enacting role-play and encouraging more group work. I also believe in using a variety of visual and auditory study materials which enable learning like flash cards, audio clips, worksheets, etc. Creating new and exciting methods of teaching has always been my driving force. With this training and knowledge, I aim towards understanding the needs of students and their fears and problems so that I can help them overcome the same. Also, my teaching process is lucid enough enabling students to thoroughly understand the concepts. It is not only about teaching language but to create that comfort and rapport with students of all ages and cultures such that learning becomes a fun process for them. With my previous customer service experience in an international airline and co-founding my company, I have interacted with people from across the globe and for most of them English language was not their first or even second language of communication but they were brilliant and unique in their own way, only language issues set up apart. I have learnt that by having the right attributes like patience, honesty, fairness, enthusiasm to teach, love for children, intelligence, flexibility and definitely a sense of humour, one can effortlessly manage teaching language to students. I take pride that I have the right attributes and the right attitude to become a teacher / trainer and aim to make a positive difference in every class I teach.
